FHMS Building Assistant Principal
6th Grade Principal

Welcome to Francis Howell Middle School! I feel extremely privileged to have the opportunity to serve as the 6th grade principal. 21 years ago, I began my teaching career right here at FHMS. I truly believe every day is a great day to be a Jr. Viking.

I received my Bachelors of Science in Education from Southwest Missouri State University, now known as Missouri State. After graduating with my bachelors, I attended the St. Louis County Police Academy. I served eight years as a police officer in the cities of Berkeley and Town and Country, MO. During my police career, I earned an Associate’s degree in Law Enforcement from St. Louis Community College and a Masters in Criminology from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. I have also earned a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Educational Administration from Lindenwood University.

I am starting my 22nd year in education. During those 21 years, I have taught Health and Physical Education at FHMS, was the Dean of Students at Francis Howell Union High School, and the Administrative Intern for both Central Elementary and Daniel Boone Elementary Schools.

During my off time, I enjoy spending time with my family, boating, riding motorcycles, computers, reading and working out. I am also very proud to say that I am a Lieutenant Commander in the U.S. Navy Reserves. During the 17/18 school year, I was deployed to Djibouti in East Africa as the Antiterrorism/Force Protection Director for the Horn of Africa. I am currently serving as the Commanding Officer for the NR NSF Sigonella Unit.

I truly believe that FHMS is the finest middle school in the Francis Howell School District. This is the result of our rich traditions in Character Education, Parent Involvement, Academic Achievement and the highly trained and dedicated staff at FHMS. The middle school years are an important time in your child’s life. As Jane Hull stated, “At the end of the day, the most overwhelming key to a child's success is the positive involvement of parents.” There are a number of opportunities for parent involvement at our school. Please contact me if you would like more information concerning Parent Involvement.

My door is always opened, please stop by and visit anytime.
