Kelly Longo Selected as FHMS Assistant Principal

The Francis Howell School District has selected Kelly Longo as an assistant principal at Francis Howell Middle School, effective July 1, 2020. Longo is currently serving as the interim assistant principal at FHMS.

Longo, who previously worked in the District, was pleased to be back last year. "I have enjoyed building relationships with the students, staff, and Howell Middle School community and look forward to working together in the future." She previously served as the assistant principal at Francis Howell North before moving to Fort Zumwalt in 2015.

Longo started her career in education at Trinity Catholic High School in St. Louis. She then spent three years teaching at Sperreng Middle School in the Lindbergh School District, before accepting a position as the dean of students at Francis Howell High School in 2008 and then moved to FHN as an assistant principal in 2014. During her time in the District, she also worked as the summer school assistant principal and the summer school assistant director. Longo has a wide spectrum of academic experience and has supervised Professional Learning Communities in a variety of subjects, including math, social studies, and fine arts. She has served as an English Department Chair and also piloted RTI in algebra. Her focus on building relationships with students and staff helps everyone reach their personal best.  

Longo has a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Missouri – St. Louis, a master's of arts in teaching and a master's in administration from Lindenwood University. She also has an educational specialist degree and a superintendent's certificate from Lindenwood as well.
