FHSD students recently had the opportunity to participate in the Missouri Tri-County Regional Science and Engineering Fair and compete against other schools from St. Charles, Lincoln, and Warren counties. After choosing and researching their topics, students analyzed their data, formulated a hypothesis, and created displays to share during the science fair.

“Francis Howell is proud to partner with regional school districts on the Missouri Tri-County Science and Engineering Fair,” said Director of Secondary Education Dr. Lucas Lammers. “Fairs like this give students a chance to explore scientific phenomena and solve real-world problems – skills that are increasingly necessary in the modern economy.”

“We had 290 individual projects, 34 partner projects, and five class projects,” said Donna Malkmus, FHSD AP Chemistry teacher and Director of the Missouri Tri-County Regional Science Fair. “The top middle school projects will get to submit Broadcom Masters national competition.”

A total of twenty elementary and middle school students from FHSD placed in the fair. The District is proud to recognize these students and their commitment to scientific work and STEM activities.
