ATTENTION 6th, 7th, and 8th grade girls. Girls on Track (Girls on the Run program for middle school) is back for its 2nd year! Girls on Track is a physical activity-based positive youth development program for girls in 6th– 8th grades that is designed to develop and enhance girls’ social, emotional, mental and physical skills to successfully navigate life experiences. The program combines training for a 5k (3.1 mile) run with life skill lessons designed to encourage independent thinking, problem solving and team and community building. The program finishes with a 5k event, which provides the opportunity for the girls to achieve their goal and celebrate their accomplishment. We are thrilled to be offering Girls on Track at FHMS for the Fall Season.
Girls on Track practice will begin on September 8th. The group will meet every Monday and Thursday from 3:30-4:45 p.m. throughout the 10-week program. Register online at www.girlsontherunstlouis.orgbetween August 18th and September 3rd before 5:00 p.m. The fee for the 20-lesson program is $150. Payment plan and need-based scholarships are available. Thanks for thinking about your daughter and the young women at our school. Together, we can empower girls for a lifetime of healthy living. Fliers can be picked up in the guidance office. If you have any questions please contact Ms. Weiss, 8thgrade guidance counselor, at 636-851-4942, or [email protected]
